An American actor, born in New York City, New York, USA, on August 9, 1892. He married Mary Meek, who remained with him until his death. He is known for Hell-Bent for Frisco (1931), The Beatniks (1960), The Branded Man (1928), and The Man Hunter (1930). Charles worked as a supporting actor in cinema since the silent era. He was originally a motor mechanic and had learned to fly during World War I before working as a full-time actor. He joined the era of the introduction of sound into movies and continued to perform small roles on the screen until the late fifties. He died in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, USA, on August 31, 1959.
