Biography
An American actor, stunt performer, and writer, born in Sonora, California, USA, on November 11, 1913. Among his most important works are Hills of Old Wyoming (1937), Gunplay (1951), The Mysterious Rider (1938), and Madron (1970). Leo was born on a ranch to an Irish father and...Read more a Mexican mother. He went to Hollywood in 1936, worked as an actor and stuntman in films, and stopped during the forties to serve as a tail gunner and bombardier with the U.S. Army Air Corps' Flying Fortresses. He carried out missions, flying over Europe during World War II, and was wounded in one of them, thus being awarded a Purple Heart. After the war, he resumed his artistic career in Westerns, and in 1956, Leo's horse ran into a tree, and he was seriously injured, which led to his retirement from working as a stunt performer and actor. Later on, he tried writing screenplays and wrote the story of a movie in 1970. He died at the age of 81 in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, USA, on October 31, 1995.
