American actress, born in Trenton, New Jersey, USA, on October 23, 1893, as Harriet Akers. She was born to an Irish mother and a Cherokee father (from the indigenous tribes, American Indians), and attended St. Mary's School in Springfield. She began her artistic career with drama...Read more and singing in stock companies and vaudeville, before standing in front of the camera in short and feature silent films. In 1919, she came to California and signed a contract with a movie studio for $200 a week, taking advantage of the strength of her relationship with her mistress, the famous star Alla Nazimova, and after several months she established another relationship with the younger actress Grace Darmond, and in the midst of this love triangle, she met at a party with the emerging actor in that Time Rudolph Valentino, and they became friends. Jane was married to actor Rudolph Valentino (1919-1923), and their marriage ended in divorce. Among her most important works are Brewster's Millions (1921), Never Say Quit (1919), and Checkers (1919). She died in Los Angeles, California, USA, on August 16, 1978.
