An American actor, born in Newark, New Jersey, USA, on May 14, 1910, as Murray Pully Lerman. He married Helen Pearl (Hope) Stone (1947-1972). She remained with him until his death, and they had one child. Among his most important works are Guys and Dolls (1955), The Love God? (1969), Greenwich Village (1944), and Within These Walls (1945). He is best known for his portrayal of Big Jule in the theatrical and movie versions of Guys and Dolls. In the cinema, he performed supporting and minor roles. Pully died at the age of 61 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, on January 6, 1972, of a heart attack.
