A British actress, born in London, England, United Kingdom, to an engineer father. She married actor, producer, and director Leslie Phillips (1982-2011), and he remained with her until her death. Among her most important works are On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969), You Rang, M’Lord? (1988), Great Catherine (1968), and Casino Royale (1967). Angela Scoular attended St George's School, Harpenden, and Queen's College, Harley Street. She graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). She participated in two James Bond films and performed Shakespearean roles on stage such as Juliet and Ophelia. She suffered from depression, anorexia nervosa, alcoholism, bowel cancer, and bipolar disorder, and attempted suicide in 1992. Angela Scoular died in Maida Vale, London, England, United Kingdom on April 11, 2011, from ingestion of acid drain cleaner at the age of 65.
