He was a Canadian actor, born in Québec, Canada. His sister was the actress Denise Pelletier. He co-founded the Nouvelle Compagnie théâtrale. He is known for The Barbarian Invasions (2003), Jesus of Montreal (1989), and R.C.M.P. (1959-1960). He received a Genie Award and a Gémeaux Award nomination. He was married to Françoise Graton. He died on September 5, 2018, in Montreal, Canada
