An American actor and producer, born in Vincennes, Indiana, USA. He studied drama at the Indiana State Teachers College, before serving in the US Marine Corps in World War II. He trained at the Pasadena Playhouse, where he met his future wife Carolyn. They worked together in the local theater and on Broadway, and she continued in theater, while he focused on film and television. He co-founded a film and television production company and worked in many commercials. He married stage actress Carolyn Moore (1950-1997), they had three children, and she remained with him until his death. His notable works include 5 Against the House (1955), Green Acres (1965-1971) and Susan Slept Here (1954). He died of heart failure in Palm Desert, California, USA, on May 4, 1997, at age 75.
