He first appeared on the Pasadena Playhouse in the early 1940s. He later signed on with Warner Bros. He appeared on Broadway in...Read more 1948, spent several successful years in theater, and worked extensively in television shows. In 1949, he won a Theatre World Award. Among his notable works are The Baby (1973), From Hell It Came (1957), and Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970). He was married five times and had two children. He died of a heart attack in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, USA, on November 7, 1972, at age 57.
