An English singer and songwriter of Albanian descent, born in London to Albanian parents from Kosovo who had left Pristina in the 1990s. Lipa attended art school on the side until she moved to Kosovo with her family in 2008. Her father was a rock singer during that time. She started recording and posting songs on YouTube by her favorite singers at the age of fourteen. At the age of sixteen, she returned to London with the dream of becoming a singer. She worked for a short period as a model, then signed a contract with Warner Music Group in 2015 and released her first album in 2017. Her credits include Barbie (2023) and Argylle (2024).
