He was an Australian actor, born in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He worked in American silent cinema as a child and joined the sound era. Among his most important works are Tarzan and the Huntress (1947), Barbara Frietchie (1915), and Mary Stuart (1913). He died in Stanislaus Country, California, USA, on May 8, 1970, at the age of 64.
