Nahed Farid Shawqy Projects a Large Budget for a Biographical Series about Her Father

Producer Nahed Farid Shawqy has projected a 25 million pound budget for a biographical television production about her father, the late Farid Shawqy. The producer has nominated Khaled al-Sawwy for the leading role and is awaiting a response from the actor.The screenplay for the series was authored by Bashir al-Deek and carries the provisional title “Al Foutoua wa Bint al-Balad” (“Boyhood and Country Girls”). The series relates the early stages of the late Farid Shawqy’s relationship with Hoda Sultan and how that relationship evolved from friendship to romance culminating in marriage. The series also sheds light on Hoda’s artistic collaboration with Shawqy, both before and after marriage on several film projects which include such titles as “Al-Raseef Nimra 5” (“Platform 5”), “Al-Lasty Hassan”, “Ja’alouny Mougriman” (“They Turned Me into a Criminal”) and “Bour Sa’id” (“Port Said”) among other successful cinema titles.
