Actress May Selim has decided to delay her wedding which was planned to take place towards the end of next week in a show of solidarity with Egypt’s martyrs who lost their lives during the crisis. May stated that she has followed the events of the crisis that has gripped Egypt with sadness for the resulting loss of life.May continued “I consider Egypt to be my country and homeland, thus the least that I can do is support the martyrs by putting off my wedding. How could I celebrate happiness while the people are bleeding on the streets? Seeing as I consider myself to be a citizen of this country which has given me a lot and let happiness into my heart it is my duty to show solidarity with the martyrs of these valiant people.” May also expressed her profound sadness with regards to what has happened and said “While following events on satellite television I could not help but cry particularly after matters deteriorated and live fire was used against my Egyptian brethren.” The actress also added that she hopes that the crisis results in a happy resolution, she also said “The losses which the country has witnessed over the past few days are sufficient and they have made those days seem as though they were long years.”May had suffered a fainting spell last week due to a sharp decline in her circulation that resulted from the anxiety and terror experienced by the Egyptian people due to activities by armed brutes who exploited the prevalence of disorder to carry out acts of robbery and to attack neighborhoods.Worthy of note is that May had formalized her engagement to Egyptian businessman ‘Aly Rifa’y in the previous month of November.
