Dolly Chahine commences filming “Liqaa” (“Rendezvous”) and sings “Leih Masr Heya Omm el-Donya” (“Why Egypt is the Core of the World”)

In the light of tumultuous events taking place throughout the Arab World, Lebanese artist Dolly Chahine has been preparing to shoot the first scenes of her new Lebanese television series “Liqaa” (“Rendezvous”). The work adopts a dramatic air and delves into the heart of the social conflicts within Lebanese culture.The screenplay for the television series was authored by Ranya al-Faqih and is directed by Bakhos ‘Alwan. The production stars Dolly Chahine and Saleh ‘Abd al-Nabby and is set to air during Ramadan 2011.On another note Dolly Chahine has concluded recording her latest song “Leih Masr Heya Omm el-Donya” (“Why Egypt is the Core of the World”), a work which she has dedicated to the youth of the revolution following its success.The lyrics to the song were written by Mohamed ‘Ouf. The song was composed by Tamer al-Bilaly and is distributed by Michael Gamal. The clip for the song is currently undergoing editing ahead of its broadcast on Arab satellite networks over the coming few days.
