Producer Sadeq al-Sabah who is responsible for producing television sitcom “Ragel wa Sitt Sittat” (“A Man and Six Women”) has asked the work’s star, Ashraf ‘Abd Al Baqy, to allow a reduction of his salary to one million pounds for the new season. The reduction is due to prevailing circumstances and uncertainty which clouds plans to distribute the show to Arab networks whose countries are experiencing revolts which aim to oust totalitarian regimes.‘Abd Al Baqy has agreed to al-Sabah’s request and affirmed the need for all performers and those active in the entertainment industry to show solidarity with each other in order to see the current crisis through. Thus the actor has added that the least that he could do as an actor was to agree to a reduction in his salary. It should be noted that the sitcom “Ragel wa Sitt Sittat” has met with considerable success throughout the Arab World, this has led the series’ makers to extend the show to eight seasons so far. The production was the brainchild of ‘Amr Samir ‘Atef. It is directed by Assad Foladkar and features the talents of Ashraf ‘Abd Al Baqy, Liqaa al-Khumeisy, Entissar, Maha Abou ‘Ouf and Menna ‘Arafa.
