The biography of Hassan al-Banna in a film and a series starring Syrian actor Rasheed ‘Assaaf

The Kuwaiti company, al-Maha for Art Production held recently a press conference in Cairo to announce the production of a film and a TV series underlining the life story of Hassan al-Banna, founder of the Muslim Brotherhood. Syrian actor Rasheed ‘Assaaf attended the press conference along with Saif al-Eslaam al-Banna, Hassan al-Banna’s son and Mohsen Raady, the senior leader in the Brotherhood. In response to the reasons for the adoption of the company's production of works highlighting the life of Hassan al-Banna, Muhammad al-‘Anzy, representative of the company "al-Maha", said that the company is interested in producing historical works that maintain the ethical aspects. Pointing out that the character of “Hassan al-Banna” brings together moral and historical sides, as well as all the qualities that appeal to their production. Al-‘Anzy added that the Muslim Brotherhood will finance neither the film nor the series.Al-‘Anzy assured, during the press conference, that the company met al-Banna’s family through the project coordinator Mohsen Raady. The company will coordinate with the family in the moral, characteristic and historical aspects of Hassan al-Banna’s personality. For his part, Seif al-Eslaam confirmed that he reviewed the script and he will be adding some adjustments and then will carry out a definitive review.Worth mention, it is scheduled to finish processing the film to be ready to screen during the next ‘Eed al-Ad-ha, while the series will show in the season of Ramadan 2012.
