Legendary poet Ahmed Fouad Negm expressed his dismay in the movie “Al Fagoumi” that was supposedly reflecting his biography, and agreed with the criticism his ex-wife (Safinaz kazem) made about the movie, which said it portrayed Negm as a womanizer without reflecting the bigger side of his personality as a poet who influence Egypt and its social history. They both agreed that the movie was a poor reflection of the true image of the ancient poet. In an interview with Tony Khalifa on a program called “The People Want” Negm condemned the movie and explained that his ex-wife is a great and professional critic.“Al Fagoumi” is written and directed by Essam Al Shamaa, starring Khaled El Sawi and Salah Abdulla portraying Negm and his lifelong friend “Shiekh Imam Eissa”
