Actor Yehia El Fakharany expressed his apprehension towards his role as the narrator in the series “The Stories of Animals in the Quran” which was playing during Ramadan. He explained the reasons of his anxiety in 3 points:First, creating a program geared towards children is a challenging issue, as it must address the level and intellect and imagination of those children.Second reason was that his role as a narrator prevented him from seeing the general outcome of the work, as he was only narrating the stories and not interactively involved in the making of the program. Finally, the last reason was that cartoon work in Egypt is very traditional and although it had a good start with Walt Disney in the early 1920’s yet it did not progress further. In an interview with “Al Shorook” newspaper, El Fakharany stated that he was able to overcome those fears, first, because he wanted to be involved in such work, second because he wanted to leave something for his grandson. Finally, because producer Sadek El Sabah pressured him into taking the role of the narrator.
