Dancer and actress Dina stated to Al Tahrir newspaper that the campaign that exploded to boycott her movie “Al Haram Street” was unexplained and extremely unjustifiable. She explained that the critics have not even seen the movie to describe it as “a couple of dances and some frivolities” Although her movie during Eid Al Fetr came number one in the box office and made the most revenues, yet the campaign continued. Dina adds that she fought a strenuous battle to ensure that her movie was not just “a couple of dances and some frivolities” and that the movie actually carried a message across and had a real story. Finally, she said that cinema is entertainment and what she offers is a sort of entertainment and not just some vulgarity.
