Filming “Kareoka” in Slovenia instead of 3 countries.

As a result of the Syrian revolution and the political instability that followed and the security issues that are affected by the situation, in an attempt to save costs the makers of “Kareoka” decided to replace the 3 countries where the outside scenes should have been shot (Turkey, Syria and Lebanon) by Slovenia. The reason for this change is that upon research they discovered that the physical features in Slovenia very much resemble those in Turkey, Lebanon and Syria. According to “Tahrir” newspaper, the series “Kareoka” is now shooting its indoor scenes in “Al Nahas” studio in Haram. The series is a biography of the late legend Egyptian actress Taheya Kareoka.They crew and cast will also film some scenes in other areas inside Egypt such as Ismailia and Alexandria. “Kareoka” is written by Fathi El Guindi, and directed by Omar El Sheikh. It is starring Wafaa Amer, Ezzat Abu Auf, Fadya Abdel Ghani, Mohamed Ramadan, Tamer Abdel Moneim and Hossam El Guindy.
