Tawfik Abdel Hamid resigns from the production sector, as a form of objection to the way the police and army handled the protestors in Tahrir

Tawfik Abdel Hamid, head of the cultural production sector in the Ministry of Culture presented his resignation today as a form of objection to the aggression and savageness that both police force and army followed in Tahrir, that targeted the peaceful protestors in the past couple of days.Abdel Hamid was assigned to his post 2 months ago, where he mentioned that he has a vision and a dream that would be promising especially after the 25th of January revolution. When he resigned he explained that until now he did not up till to date see a real change whether inside the ministry of culture of outside which is apparent in the brutal way the army and police handled the protestors. Joint forces of both police and army personnel invaded the square and forcefully evacuated the open sit in using all kinds of weapons and live ammunition which led to 1800 injured and 22 dead. The protestors were asking for a national salvation government and a clear time plan for the upcoming presidential elections and the transfer of power to civilians.
