Script writer Magdi Saber is close to completing his new series “The Spring of Anger” directed by Mohamed Fadel. He will start shooting the series on the 25th of January in conjunction with the first anniversary of the revolution in order for it to play during Ramadan. The events of the series start on April 6th 2008 during the first call for a general strike in solidarity with the workers of Mahala. The situation quickly transformed into a clash between the protestors and the security forces. The same thing happened 2 and half years later but in a more organized and more contained manner during the 25th of January 2011 when the Egyptian revolution took place. This is when the events of the series end. In a statement to El Masry El Yom Newspaper, script writer Magdi Saber explained that he is trying to create a panoramic image of Egypt throughout the last 2 years, highlighting the reasons for the revolution and the corruption which led to forging the people’s assembly elections in 2012. The series consists of a common collective stardom, bringing together more than 15 artists. Nothing has been finalized in terms of leading roles but there is talk that the lead star will possibly be actress Fardos Abdel Hamid.
