“Harry Potter”, “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “The Tree of Life” top the Oscar nominations for initial visual effects

Science and Art Academy announced the Oscars of its initial list for fifteen films are award candidates for Best Visual Effects.Most nominated films were expected, belong to the category of science fiction or worlds fantasy, which depends on techniques that makes it top this category, such as the last series part of “Harry Potter”, the fourth part of each “Mission Impossible” and “Pirates of the Caribbean”, as well as “X-Men: First Class”, “Super 8”, “Hugo”, “Captain America”, “Real Steel”, “Rise of the Planet of the Apes”, “Thor”, “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows”, “Transformers” and “Cowboys & Aliens”.The only film that does not belong to science fiction category, is for the great director Terrence Malick “The Tree of Life”, due to part of the events depended on Universe origins track, which led him to use different visual effects from the usual.This list will be reduced to ten movies in next January 10th, before the announcement of the officially five nominated movies for an Oscar Best Visual Effects in January 24th.
