Palestinian actress Hiam Abbas member of Cannes Jury Assembles

The Cannes International Film Festival 2012 which is taking place between 16 and 28 May has announced the Jury of the Competition presided by the Italian director Nanni Moretti who has won the Palm d'Or in 2001 for his film "The Son's Room".The Jury member assembly includes Palestinian actress Hiam Abbas who is considered one of the most important Arabic actresses of the last decade. She has participated in many unique projects like "Bab el Shams" by Yousry Nasrallah, "Al Janna Al Aan – Heaven Now", "Shajar Elaymoon – Lemon Tree", "Alaroos Alsoureya" – The Syrian Bride" and "Amreeka" which is directed by Sherine Dabes. She also has an American career by working with Steven Spielberg in "Munich" and with Thomas McCarthy in "The Visitor". The other Jury members are American director Alexander Payne, British director Andrea Arnold, German actress Diane Kruger, French actress Emmanuelle Devos, Ewan McGregor, director and producer Raoul Peck and finally French designer Jean Paul Gaultier.
