Haneke is behind Trintignant return to the Silver Screen.

During the press conference held for the filmmakers and cast of "Amour" in the 65th Cannes International Film Festival; director Michael Haneke expressed his happiness to make such a simple project and enter with it Cannes for the 7th time. Haneke also added that he had never directed a film that is proving a point such "Amour". Lead actor Jean-Louis Trintignant assured that if it wasn't for Haneke's film he would still be committed only to theater acting. Trintignant said that he finds himself on the stage more than on the silver screen, but he considers Haneke to be one of the greatest cinema directors worldwide and he could never reject his request to work with him. He also added that he it will be his last work in films and he shall go back to theater afterwards.At the conference were lead actresses Isabelle Huppert and Emmanuelle Riva who admitted on the confidence and mutual understanding between her and Haneke and that she found no difficulty in dealing with her role in the film.
