Director Christopher Nolan broke his silence and spoke on behalf of his cast and crew and expressed their profound sorrow over the victims that were shot while leaving the theater after watching his new film "The Dark Knight Rises" in Aurora Colorado in Denver. 12 died and more than 50 were injured when a masked man dressed as one of the characters in the film and open fire at the crowd who left the midnight premiere of the film.Nolan said that he didn't know the victims but knowing that this tragedy happened while attending his film is tragic enough for him. He added that he considers films to be one of the great American art forms and to share an experience of watching a film and covering an untold story is a joyful time. Nolan added that he considers the movie theater to be as his own home, and the idea of someone violating this innocent place is devastating to him, and nothing anyone can say would express their feelings to the families of the victims but his thoughts are with them. After this incident, Warner Bros. cancelled their promotional visit to Mexico with the lead actors which was scheduled on Monday.
