Five Arabic Films at the 69th Venice Film Festival.

The 69th Venice International Film Festival which is taking place from 29 August to 8 September announced the complete schedule of its events under the presidency of Paolo Baratta. The plan revealed five Arabic films participating in the festival; three in "Horizons – Orizzonti", one out of competition – special events and one film in the Days of Venice. The films participating in the "Orizzonti" are the Egyptian film "El Sheita Elli Fat (Winter of Discontent)" by Ibrahim EL BATOUT with Amr Waked as actor and producer, the Saudi film "Wadjda" by Haifaa AL MANSOUR who also wrote the film and the Algerian film ”Yema" by Djamila SAHRAOUI. The film screening out of competition is the Tunisian documentary by Hinde Boujemaa and entitled "Ya Man Aach (It Was Better Tomorrow)" and the fifth screening in Days of Venice is by Palestinian director and actress Heyam Abbas entitled "Turath – Meerath" adapted from the original script of Alaa Helaihel.
