“Harry Potter” director David Yates may be taking on the Warner Bros. remake of “Tarzan,” according to Vulture. With talks underway, Yates should soon be scanning the Hollywood horizons for the perfect chest-beating, jungle man to carry the film. Three names are already floating around for the title role: Tom Hardy, Henry Cavill, and Alexander Skarsgård.Warner Bros. is pushing for Tom Hardy, who’s worked with the studio before in Christopher Nolan’s “Inception” and “The Dark Knight Rises.” Hardy has yet to comment on his involvement though. Work on this film has been going on since 2011 roughly. It is based on the children’s novels of the same name written by American novelist Edgar Rice Burroughs, who penned the first of over 25 Tarzan novels in 1912. Warner Bros. had received two scenarios a long time ago from two screenwriters, Craig Brewer and Adam Cozad. The studio has decided to go with Brewer, who will develop a Tarzan trilogy. David Yates is coming off of directing four films from the enormously successful Harry Potter franchise.
