Ben Affleck has been dropping lines left and right about wanting to work with Twilight superstar Kristen Stewart. He's been angling to sign her on to play his love interest in "Focus," a sexy comedy about an aging con artist who becomes romantically involved with a young rookie he takes under his wing.

It seems, however, that the stars are not aligned for Affleck and young Stewart. Weeks after Stewart officially signed onto the project, Affleck withdrew from the film. Variety reported last Thursday that Affleck has dropped out of the project, citing a scheduling conflict that "just couldn't be worked out."

Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, the team behind "Crazy Stupid Love," will now have to search for a replacement before production begins in spring 2013.

The actor-turned-director (and father of two) has a lot on his plate this year. On top of promoting his acclaimed drama "Argo" before the Oscars in February, he's on board to direct "The Stand," based on the very long and complicated Stephen King novel. He's also writing, directing, producing and starring in "Live By Night."
