Next April: “Ninja Turtles” on Set!

To be produced by the great director Michael Bay and directed by Jonathan Liebesman, the upcoming film “Ninja Turtles,” adapted from the classic comics, will start shooting in New York next April and will hit theaters in May 2014, according to Production Weekly.

Paramount Pictures, who shortened the name from “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” to just “Ninja Turtles,” were planning to start shooting the film last fall and release it in the summer of 2013 but changed plans to make a less expensive film. The four main characters--Leonardo, Michael Angelo, Donatello and Rafael-- are returning with the same story line and events.
