It looked like "Jane Got a Gun" was doomed when last month Jude Law pulled out of the project (after replacing Michael Fassbender) because the director he signed on to work with ( Lynne Ramsay) walked out on the film by not showing up for production.

There may be hope yet! Bradley Cooper has signed on to replace Law, giving the project a boost with his skyrocketing star power. Director Gavin O'Connor replaced Ramsay last month. The lifers of the Western are Natalie Portman and Joel Edgerton, and if everyone keeps their fingers crossed, production, which began two weeks ago, will go on without a hitch.

"Jane" is about a woman (Portman) who reaches out to an ex-lover (Edgerton) to help protect her homestead when bandits led by a head honcho (Cooper) turn up looking for her outlaw husband.

Here's to hoping the turnover on the project ends here! The flick is currently being shot in New Mexico, and has a 2014 release date.
