Mohamed Ramadan's circus-crime-thriller-extravaganza " Qalb al Assad" (Lion Heart) will continue showing throughout the coming Eid el Adha season, according to producer and distributor Mohamed Hussan Ramzy. Despite being released this past Eid, political turmoil and the curfew severly hampered the film's commercial success, though it grossed more than any other of the Eid el Fitr releases.

Ramzy stressed that what happened to the films released this Eid made producers ask their distributors to extend the showings through Eid el Adha. He said "Qalb al Assad" had very high box office revenues in its first week in theaters before political events and the implementation of the curfew put an end to the season and stopped up all revenues.

There is a tendency, says Ramzy, to re-release a film during Eid el Adha, but for their film, it depends on how the film is received and how it performs commercially, in this case after the curfew is lifted.

"Qalb al Assad" far beat out its competitors with gross revenues of 15 million EGP, 12 million of those made in its first week in theaters. Ramadan stars alongside Horeya Farghaly, Riham Ayman and Hassan Hosny in the drama written by Hossam Moussa and directed by Karim el Sobky.
