James Franco Defends Ben Affleck as Batman

According to “E! News”, James Franco defended choosing Ben Affleck to play Batman in the sequel to Man of Steel, stating that it will be a “new Batman”, after a wave of criticism that surrounded Affleck from Batman fans, who saw that he was completely unsuitable for the role.

While critics of Ben’s casting in the “Man of Steel” sequel have been quick to cite “ Daredevil” as proof that Ben is superhero box office kryptonite, James, who recently participated in Toronto International Film Festival said the failure of the 2003 film was not the actor's fault.

Oz the Great and Powerful” star added that Affleck has proved to be a good actor and director, though he personally prefers him as a director, suggesting that Ben should direct the upcoming Man of Steel himself.Aflleck is set to star along with Henry Cavill, with Zack Snyder on board as the director. The film hasn't had an official title yet, and is expected to be released during 2015.
