Tom Hanks' “Saving Mr. Banks” Closes London Film Festival Today

Inits closing night, London Film Festival screens the American movie“ Saving Mr. Banks.” The feature is directed by John Lee Hancock.

Starring Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson, the movie tells the untold true storybehindthe adaptation of P.L. Travers' novel “Mary Poppins.” Traversremembers her difficult childhood while meeting with filmmaker WaltDisney during the production of the adaptation.

Hankshas already opened this year's London Festival with his “ Captain Phillips,” another true story about the American cargo hijacked bythe Somalia coasts.

Winnersof the festival's awards will also be announced today in the threecategories of the festival: the official contest, best debut filmaward and the best documentary.
