Quentin Tarantino Honored in France

Acclaimed director Quentin Tarantinohas received the Prix Lumiere award at Lumiere Film Festival, in aceremony that included Harvey Keitel and Uma Thurman among theaudience, praising him on professional and personal levels.

Keitel, upon taking the stage, grew tearyas he began to talk about the director, comparing his relationshipwith Tarantino to a great romance. "I always felt we were meantfor each other and nothing could keep us apart. Maybe if he had beena woman we could have gotten married, had kids," he joked. "Working with Quentin is like reading a great novel or hearing agreat symphony or piece of music -- it changes you. You don't knowhow, but it has."

Uma Thurman, who handed Tarantino theprize, said in her speech that his work always has aspirations forjustice, freedom from oppression, courage, and most of all love andpassion.

Tarantino thanked both stars, statingthat he considers his actors and producers to be his own family,since he never had a real one.

Uma Thurman has starred in Tarantino's" Pulp Fiction" and " Kill Bill," while Harvey Keitel starred and alsoproduced Tarantino's debut feature “ Reservoir Dogs.”
