“Thor: The Dark World” Tops Egyptian Box Office

The American blockbuster “ Thor: The Dark World” came on top of the Egyptian box office in its firstweek in theaters. The movie collected EP 593,000. In this sequel of“ Thor,” starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Tom Hiddleston, Thor faces an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannotwithstand, he'll have to get help from Loki to restore order to theuniverse.

Hatoli Ragel” (Need a Man)retreated to the second place. The smart comedy added EP 384thousands to its gross this week to reach EP 3.9 million in totalrevenues. “ Ash el Bolbol” (Nightingale's Nest) came third,maintaining its position of last week, collecting EP 279,000.

Al Qashash” (The Sweeper) alsomaintained the same position of last week, coming fourth. AddingEP273,000 thousands this week, pushing its gross to EP4.4 million. Paul Greengrass' “ Captain Phillips” came fifth with EP174,000from the Egyptian theaters. The movie tells a true story about thefirst American cargo ship to be hijacked in two hundred years.
