'Her' and 'Gravity' Tie for Best Picture in L.A Critics Awards

The survival-in-space thriller Gravityand the futuristic romance Her both tied on the best picture award at the 2013 Los Angeles Film Critics Association awards.

Cate Blanchett was named best actress for her role in Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine, in another tie with the French actress Adele Exarchopoulos for her role in Blue is the Warmest Colour, which was also titled the best foreign language film. The film was previously awarded the Palme D'or at Cannes this year.

Best supporting actor went to James Franco in Spring Breakers, in which he played a drug dealer and a hard-edged womanizer.

Bruce Dern won a second best supporting actor award for his role in Nebraska, after winning the title earlier this year in Cannes.

The Mexican Lupita Nyong’o won best supporting actress for her role in 12 Years a Slave, in which Brad Pitt co-starred and served as producer.
