Palm Springs to Award Tom Hanks the Chairman's Award

Tom Hanks will receive the Palm SpringsFilm festival's Chairman Award on the 4th of January. Thelist of artists receiving this award includes Ben Affleck, George Clooney, Richard Gere, Dustin Hoffman and Nicole Kidman.

“Tom Hanks is one of the greatestactors of his generation. In a remarkable feat that vividlyillustrates the range of his talent, this year he portrayed two reallife characters, each a powerhouse performance in its own right,”said the festival chairman Harold Matzner.

Multiple artists will be honored at thesame gala including Sandra Bullock, Julia Roberts and the cast of“ American Hustle.”
