Egyptian authorities have located and the body of director Mohamed Ramadan, who was reported lost several days ago in “Qersh El Araneb” zone in St. Catherine, South Sinai.

Ramadan, along with seven others, suffered a snow storm while on a hiking trip in St. Catherine. Four of the group were rescued, while three bodies were initially found. Ramadan was considered lost for three days, before his dead body was discovered today.

The incident stirred a lot of controversy and negative responses throughout social media wesbites in the few last days, which is still ongoing to this moment. Activists and friends of the deceased blame armed forces officials present in the area, who refused to start a helicopter-aided rescue mission, as “the victims weren't foreigners” and because “army helicopters are only currently used for promotional purposes.”
