George Clooney and Matt Damon Attend White House Screening of 'The Monuments Men'

The Monuments Men stars George Clooney, Matt Damon and Bill Murrayhave attended a private screening of the film for president Barack Obama, in the White House last Tuesday.

A member of the original Monuments Men group, Harry Ettlinger, also attended the screening, along with Robert Edsel, whose book is the basis for the film, and Sara Bloomfield, director the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington.

The film follows a group of allied soldiers assigned with the mission to re-capture art masterpieces stolen by the Nazis in World War II.

The White House has its own screening room and occasionally invites movie stars and other dignitaries to watch a new film. Last awards season, Steven Spielberg's Lincoln and the Nelson Mandela biopic Mandela: A Long Walk To Freedomwere screened.
