Film Industry Chamber Bans El Sobky From Production For 12 Months

The Egyptian Film Industry Chamber headed by producer Mohamed Hassan Ramzy has issued a decree banning producer Mohamed El Sobky from producing any films for 12 months.

Ramzy confirmed that any decision taken by the Chamber are compliant with Egyptian law, and stated that the decree was issued as a response to the defamation made by El Sobky against members of the Chamber.

The incident dates back to a recent squabble between Ramzy and El Sobky that took place on air on Tamer Amin's talk show “Men El Akhir” over the competition between El Sobky's “ El Mowaten Bors” and Ramzy's “ El Gezira 2”, which were both released theatrically at the same time.
