After the film's successful Egyptian premiere at the 36th Cairo International Film Festival, “ Decor” is currently participating in the 25th Carthage Film Festival in Tunisia, that has commenced on the 29th of November and will conclude on the 6th of December.

The film's first screening at Carthage, which took place in Al Balady theater in the Tunisian capital, was met with a very warm welcome and acclaim from audience and critics who overcrowded the screening hall, and was given a five-minute standing ovation.

The film will be screened in five other venues throughout the festival in the capital and other cities. A discussion forum was held after the first screening, and was attended by Ahmed Abdalla.

Decor is competing for the Golden Tanit, which is awarded to the best feature film in the competition. It first premiered internationally at the London Film Festival last October.

The film features a plot that is rather unconventional in relation to Egyptian cinema, and was shot in its entirety in black and white. It follows Maha, who has always been a passionate cinephile, and as a set designer, she has become an expert in creating fictional settings. Under her highly demanding job's stress, she finds herself shifting between two worlds, embodied by Sherif and Mostafa, one represents the fictional set she designed, and the other represents reality. By time, Maha dives deep into both worlds, until she gets totally confused, and finally has to make a choice.

Decor was produced by New Century, and stars Khaled Abol Naga, Houreya Farghaly and Maged El Kedwany, and was written by the siblings trio Sherin, Mohamed and Khaled Diab.
