The Lebanese jurisdiction has sentenced singer Carole Samaha to a fine of 5,000 LBP in addition to up to 50 million in compensation, concluding her trail after she was accused of using a song from her 2006 album “Adwaa Alshohra” (The Spotlights) without the consent of the album's producer Niqola Saada Nakhla.

Samaha used the song in a television ad for Pepsi she appeared in, but rather than using the original recording, chose to make a re-recorded version of the same composition, which made Nakhla file the lawsuit.
