The story of Shafiqa Al-Qibtiyya, the most famous bellydancer in the 20th century, as she is forced to leave her only son with her mother after her father kicks her out. As she grows famous, she meets her now-grown son, Aziz, as he falls in love with the daughter of Ass'ad Pasha, Shafiqa's lover.
