In the village of Ben Hindek, peasant properties are dispossessed, and it is characterized by hideous methods of exploitation, prompting many of them to migrate outside their homeland. Some are forced to sell ancestral land and move into the city, where they live a new life in search of a living, often finding work as a porter, shoe cleaner, or blacksmith.
