Abbas is a postman who got recently transferred from Cairo to Kom Al-Nahl, Assiut, a remote village in Upper Egypt. At the village, he suffers from the inhabitants' hatred and ignorance, and his boredom motivates him to read their letters, giving him god-like insights into their innermost secrets.
