Sacer informs Ptolemy that she is carrying his child. Demetrius informs Cleopatra that her father trusts that she will be up to the task if things go wrong. Berenice admonishes her father for his failure to forgive her. Cleopatra falls for a thief named Karry.

When Ptolemy informs Cato that he won't be imposing taxes on his people to benefit Rome, Cato warns him about the risk and raises the concern that Ptolemy might not return to Rome alive. Ptolemy discovers that Sacer has been lying to him about her pregnancy and suffocates her.

Ptolemy is angered when a market in Alexandria gets robbed. Berenice sends a letter to the ruler of Cyprus to help her become the ruler of Egypt. Ptolemy decides to go to Rome and takes Cleopatra with him.

Julius Caesar asks the Senate to postpone their conquest of Egypt. Humenus and Dion agree to use Aemilius to ignite the spark of revolution in Alexandria. Ptolemy vows to support Julius Caesar with money but on the condition of stopping the conquest of Egypt. The ruler of Cyprus refuses to help Berenice.

6th Episode

After Ptolemy pays the money that the Senate wanted, they declare him a friend. Aemilius brings the snake that Dion asked for and trains it to respond to Cleopatra's perfume. Ptolemy refuses to help his brother, the ruler of Cyprus, against Rome.

Berenice sees Cleopatra in Karry's arms. The ruler of Cyprus kills himself after Cato arrives to confiscate his property and remove him from his position. As Aemilius starts to incite the people against Ptolemy, the people revolt and try to break into the palace.

8th Episode

As Cleopatra finds the snake, a maid confesses to putting it in the palace, which prompts the commander of the army to kill her. After Berenice denies having anything to do with the incident, she tells Cleopatra that Karry is behind it. Berenice seizes the throne when Ptolemy goes to Rome.

Ptolemy is angered when he learns that Berenice has wed to make herself Egypt's de facto ruler. Berenice starts consolidating her power by removing the latest taxes that Ptolemy has imposed on the people.

When Berenice catches her husband raping a maid, she kills him with a stone. Berenice gets Dion to go to Rome to inform them the people of Egypt want her as ruler, but Ptolemy gets his men to kill Dion. Pompey advises Ptolemy to go to Syria to gather an army and take back his throne.

As Ptolemy pays Gabinius to help him get his throne back, the latter gets Mark Antony to take his soldiers to Egypt to reinstall Ptolemy. Ptolemy and Cleopatra return to the palace after their triumph. Ptolemy confiscates the fortunes of those who betrayed him and orders Berenice killed.

As Ptolemy XII Auletes passes away, his will installs his children Cleopatra and Ptolemy XIII as joint rulers of Egypt. Cleopatra elevates all taxes and asks her advisors to look for solutions for the issues facing Egypt.

As Cleopatra bids Demetrius farewell, Achillas and Busan turn young Ptolemy against Cleopatra, though Arsinoe advises him to learn the way of governance from Cleopatra. Arsinoe begs Cleopatra to allow her love for Ganymedes. Cleopatra gives Achillas time to get rid of the rebels.

Cleopatra gets Achillas to hang the rebels in the streets of Alexandria to strike fear in the hearts of her enemies. Byblos asks Cleopatra to provide him with soldiers. Cleopatra sends the killers of Byblos's sons to him to stand trial for their crime.

Cleopatra starts forming a naval fleet for Egypt. As the conflict between Julius Caesar and Pompey escalates in Rome, the two are removed from office by the Senate. Arsinoe falls pregnant with Ganymedes's baby. To repay Pompey's debt, Cleopatra sends him 50 ships filled with grain and one thousand soldiers.

Cleopatra removes Achillas from his office after thieves set fire to the grain stores. Busan pays Aemilius to incite the people against Cleopatra for helping Pompey. Cleopatra beats Arsinoe when she learns of her pregnancy, which causes the latter to miscarry.

Busan pushes Ptolemy to remove Cleopatra and puts Achillas back in charge of the army. Homer advises Cleopatra to leave the palace as Busan advises Ptolemy to kill her. Aemilius sneaks Cleopatra out, and she leaves with Karry and Homer to prepare an army to take back her throne.

When Pompey suffers a crushing defeat, he enlists Ptolemy's help, but Busan and Achillas advise Ptolemy to kill him. When Julius Caesar arrives, Ptolemy presents him with Pompey's head and ring, but Caesar informs him that he came to ensure that his father's will is met. Caesar falls for Cleopatra.

Caesar informs Cleopatra and Ptolemy that they will be inaugurated as joint rulers of Egypt. When Ptolemy overhears Cleopatra telling Caesar that she could fall in love with him despite his epileptic seizures, he uses the information to incite the people against Cleopatra and Caesar.

Rome celebrates the arrival of Cleopatra and her son Caesarion. As Caesar thinks about taking control of the Senate, Octavian comes onto Cleopatra, who threatens him with a broken glass. Caesar changes the Roman calendar. Brutus agrees to participate in the plot to kill Caesar.

It's revealed that Octavian knows about the plot to kill Caesar. A fortuneteller tells Cleopatra that she won't be able to save Caesar and that Caesarion's fate will be determined in Egypt. In the Senate, the conspirators assassinate Julius Caesar.

As Mark Antony informs Cleopatra that Caesar's will didn't mention her or Caesarion, he aids her escape to Egypt. After years of military successes, Mark Antony sends for Cleopatra to spend some time with him. Cleopatra is angered when the Egyptians revolt due to their desire for an Egyptian king.

When Mark Antony confesses his love for Cleopatra, they fall into bed. Octavian plans for Mark Antony to wed his sister and for them to divide the Roman empire among them. When Mark Antony returns to Rome, he marries Octavian's sister, leaving the furious Cleopatra to burn his clothes.

Octavian incites the Senate against Mark Antony after the latter writes his will. Under Octavian's command, Rome wages war against Mark Antony, leading to a crushing defeat for the latter. Cleopatra refuses to give Mark Antony to Octavian in exchange for Egypt's rule.

Finale

After a betrayal among the ranks of Mark Antony's army, Octavian enters Egypt and seizes the throne. As Mark Antony is deceived and told that Cleopatra was killed, he kills himself. When Cleopatra is told that she will be a part of his procession as a captive, she kills herself.
