Two rebellious scientists are faced with a shocking discovery after they secretly continue to carry out a controversial experiment by splicing the human DNA.

This picture is a Canadian-French horror film directed by Vincenzo Natali. The film features the talents of Sarah Polley and Adrian Brody. Clive Nicoli (Adrian Brody) and Elsa Kast (Sarah Polley) are two scientists that have succeed in splicing the DNA of different animals, generating hybrids. Their success in this regard helps them achieve fame and eminence as the first scientists to achieve such a feat. Nevertheless, they want to take things one step further by splicing human DNA with that of animals. However, the pharmaceutical company that funds their research is not interested and orders them to focus on more practical pursuits. Despite those orders, the two scientists decide to proceed anyway. Unbeknownst to the pharmaceutical firm, Clive and Elsa splice animal DNA with that of a human being. The result is a hybrid creature they name Dren. So far the experiment has been a secret but as Dren grows and gains in strength and abilities it becomes more and more difficult for Clive and Elsa to conceal their secret experiment.
