Santa Claus is not growing any younger. Following years of distinguished service Santa has finally resigned himself to the fact that he needs a successor to manage his toy factory in the North Pole, pilot his sky going reindeer sleigh and deliver gifts chimney-wise to children across the World on Christmas eve. The ideal candidate for the post should be named Nicholas, in addition to having a pure heart and being an orphan. Among the many millions of nominees, the choice falls on a boy from Australia. The successor is quite shy, subject to bouts of vertigo and a bit lacking in self-confidence but father Christmas will not resign before his heir has been brought up to standard.
