Al Haggag sends Hasnaa the servant to the Caliph Al Walid's palace as a spy. He also places Thaalaba in prison to spy on the prisoners. Meanwhile, the young al-Nuʿman ibn Thabit has now memorized the Holy Qur'an while Tariq ibn Ziyad has invaded Spain.

2nd Episode

Thabet discovers that al-Nuʿman wants to kill Al Haggag, to which he objects and tells him that faith is more powerful than weapons. Qamar Al Zaman conspires with Hasnaa against the Caliph, and both he and Thabet die. Years later, al-Nuʿman marries Fatema and begins his journey advocating for Islam.

3rd Episode

Maysara Ibn Omran asks to hide in Hasnaa's house, as she returned to her mother after being released by the Caliph Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz. The Imam Zayd reveals the Caliph Hisham's plans to cause a rift among the descendants of Al- Hassan and Al-Hussein. Al-Nuʿman sees a prophecy that he will have a great life ahead of him.

4th Episode

As al-Nuʿman manages his business next to his classes in Islamic jurisprudence, his sheikh Hammad requests he go continue his studies until dawn. al-Nuʿman later travels to Mecca to perform Hajj and meet Yazid ibn Umar. Meanwhile, Fatema has their first son. Al-Nuʿman invites Zayd to visit Al Kufa.

5th Episode

Al-Nuʿman tells Zayd that his primary source is the Holy Qur'an and Sunnah. Khaled, the wali of Iraq, denounces al-Nuʿman for his relations to Zayd and the prophet's (pbuh) descendants and arrests him, with Zayd turning himself in afterwards. Al-Nuʿman then convinces Khaled to let Zayd spread his message. Qamar marries the Caliph Hisham.

The Caliph removes Khaled from Iraq and imprisons him, putting Yusuf al-Thaqafī in his place. As Qamar Al Zaman bears the Caliph Hisham's child, she is scared for his life due to her loyalty to the prophet's (pbuh) descendants, unbeknownst to her husband. Maysara fears that there is a conspiracy against Imam Zayd.

Yusuf al-Thaqafī accuses Khaled of wasting Iraq's funds and puts him in prison, torturing him for defending Zayd. Yusuf then considers killing Zayd but the Caliph tells him to stir trouble between Zayd and his men regarding faith. Khaled and al-Nuʿman meet in prison.

Maysara Ibn Omran lets Zayd go and tells Abu Hanifa he has repented for his sins. Zayd goes to Al Qadisiyyah and becomes the wali (ruler). Abu Hanifa sets his servant Halima free but she returns to his house. Abu Hanifa and Abu Layla have a fight regarding religion.

The head of Iraq police, Amr, pledges his allegiance to Zayd ibn Ali. Hisham removes the heir to the throne and puts his son Maslama in his place. The Qasr tribe calls for the release of Khalid al-Qasri, and Hisham asks Khaled to convince people to call for his removal to bring Maslama in his place. However, Khaled refuses.

As Qamar Al Zaman tries to stop Hisham from battling Zayd, she tells Hasnaa information about the army. Yusuf al-Thaqafī is angry Zayd is gaining many allies. One of Yusuf's men contacts Abdullah El Kindi to cause a rift among Zayd's army. Abu Hanifa donates money to Zayd in his war against the Umayyads.

Al Hareth asks Caliph Hisham to convince Khalid al-Qasri to pledge his allegiance to Maslama, while Abu Hanifa calls for denouncing Maslama as heir to the Caliphate, and announces his support to Zayd. Yusuf al-Thaqafī informs Hisham he is going to terrorize the women and children of Zayd's allies. Zayd kills Amr Ibn Al Hakam.

Sumayya scares Qamar Al Zaman for her child's safety if Zayd wins the war. Meanwhile, Zayd's army's movements are revealed to Yusuf al-Thaqafī and they manage to attack Zayd and his army and kill Zayd, which devastates Abu Hanifa.

Abu Hanifa calls people to revolt against injustice, which makes the police arrest his son Hammad. Abu Hanifa meets with Yusuf al-Thaqafī who asks him to support of the Caliph and pledge his allegiance to Al Walid in return of his son's release. Hasnaa considers leaving for Al Kufa but her daughter refuses.

Al Walid is killed and Yazid becomes Caliph. Abul Abbas calls for the formation of the Abbasid caliphate and asks Abu Muslim Al Khorasany to spread their message in Khorasan. Qamar Al Zaman tells Hasnaa she inadvertently caused Imam Zayd's defeat. Yusuf al-Thaqafī refuses his removal from Iraq.

Yusuf al-Thaqafī flees Iraq after killing Khalid al-Qasri. Abu Mosallam secretly calls for the Abbasid rule in Khorasan, while Sarah disagrees and calls him a coward. Abu Muslim meets Abu Hanifa and Marwan ibn Muhammad seeks the Caliphate.

Yazid ibn Khalid kills Yusuf al-Thaqafī to avenge his father. Meanwhile, Sarah rejects Abu Muslim's request for her hand in marriage at first, then she eventually marries him and asks him to avenge her father. Abu Hanifa denies that he disregards the prophet's (pbuh) ahadith.

Abu Muslim's ploy is revealed and Sarah's uncle decides to kill him. However, Sarah is quick to warn him and he escapes. Meanwhile, the police is searching for Abul Abbas and the Abbasids send a letter threatening Caliph Marwan as they prepare to announce their Caliphate.

Sarah travels to Khorasan to meet her husband. The Umayyads are quickly falling apart and the ruler of Iraq tries to win over Abu Hanifa by giving him a position in government, which he refuses. Hammad decides to go to jihad. Abu Muslim triumphs in Khorasan and lets the son of the Umayyad Caliph go.

Bakr Ibn Saeed attacks Abu Hanifa because he thinks Abu Hanifa denounces Imam Hasan al-Basri, but Abu Hanifa explains to him that he does not, and that disagreements are normal when it comes to fiqh. Abu Muslim frees his prisoner and takes an oath never to fight with them again.

The ruler of Iraq refuses to send soldiers to fight the Abbasids in Khorasan in fear of the fall of Iraq. Abu Hanifa tells his student Yaqub he has a great future ahead of him, naming him Abu Yusuf. Abu Hanifa also refuses the position of Judge of Judges.

Ibn Habira is angered by Abu Hanifa's refusal of his offer so he sends him to prison. While in there, a man helps him. The wali (ruler) then regrets what he did and lets him out, promising him protection. Abul Abbas removes Abu Muslim from his position leading in the army.

Abul Abbas asks Abu Muslim to stay with them, and says he removed him from the army since he is not Arab. A disagreement ensues between Imam Malik ibn Anas in Hijaz and Abu Hanifa in Iraq. Hammad returns after his victory over the Turks with a Zoroastrian (fire-worshiping) slave.

Qohtoba aims to get Ma'an, prince of the Shaybans, to join the Abbasids. Abu Hanifa leaves Hijaz and his family and meets with Malik ibn Anas, who refuses to rebel against the ruler even if he is unjust. Abul Abbas takes Al Kufa.

Abu Hanifa returns to Al Kufa to pledge his allegiance to Abul Abbas as the ruler of Iraq. Hammad tries to convince Mayar not to worship fire, but to worship Allah, which makes Abu Hanifa tells him to set her free as there is no coercion in religion. As a result, she listens to him and warms up to Islam.

Mayar converts to Islam and wishes to meet the Imam. Abu Hanifa tells Abul Abbas to do good by the people of Hijaz. Imam Malik accepts Abul Abbas's gifts while Abu Hanifa doesn't, since he is not sure of their origin. The Umayyads are defeated and Marwan ibn Muhammad flees.

Abdallah ibn Ali kills Marwan ibn Muhammad in Egypt, and demands to be heir to the throne. Abu Hanifa and Imam Malik denounce the killing even though they support the Abbasids. Abul Abbas names his brother Abu Ja'far al-Mansur the heir to the caliphate, which causes people's uproar against the Abbasids.

Abu Muslim continues tracking down runaway Umayyads and is angry at Hasnaa when he discovers she hid Qamar Al Zaman and divorces Sarah. Hammad awaits his father's return to ask for his permission to marry Mayar.

Abu Hanifa denounces Al Abbas's decision to kill Ibn Hubayra, the former ruler of Iraq, due to a pact Abul Abbas previously made with him. Abu Muslim tells them of Ibn Hubayra's death and Mayar returns to her country. The Caliph appoints Abu Salama al-Khallala minister but he still plans to kill him.

The princes agree to announce Abu Ja'far al-Mansur as heir to the caliphate and ask him to marry Arwa Bint Mansour, however, she refuses. Isa, prince of Al Kufa attends one of Abu Hanifa's classes to meet Abul Abbas. Abu Hanifa expresses his anger at the Abbasid's violence after the founding of their country.

Abul Abbas plots to get rid of Abu Muslim after he rebels. Abu Ja'far agrees on Arwa's conditions to marry him. Abu Hanifa finds out that Abu Yusuf is holding fiqh classes of his own behind his back. As Mayar is tortured by her uncle because of her conversion to Islam, Hammad is sad because she has not returned.

Abu Ja'far does his hajj (pilgrimage to Mecca) and tries to put a stop to Abu Muslim's increasing power over Hijaz. Abul Abbas dies and Abu Ja'far becomes caliph. His uncle refuses to pledge allegiance to him but Abu Muslim does. Umayya son of Qamar Al Zaman becomes prince of Granada, Spain.

Abu Hanifa manages to get his student Abu Yusuf back with his wife after he divorces her. Isa ibn Musa becomes heir to the Caliphate and Hammad travels to Mayar's hometown to look for her. Abu Muslim defeats Abdallah ibn Ali and objects to Abu Ja'far's decision to remove him as a ruler of Khorasan.

After Abu Ja'far kills Abu Muslim, Sarah decides to take revenge on Arwa, Abu Ja'far's wife. Abu Ja'far founds a caliphate headquarters in Baghdad. Abu Hanifa warns him against harming the prophet's (pbuh) descendants and prohibits him from marrying since he has agreed not to marry a second time.

Arwa sends a gift to Abu Hanifa because his fatwa was in her favor but he declines it. Abu Ja'far looks for his cousins Muhammad and Ibrahim, thinking they have rebelled against him and his rule. Arwa asks Sarah for forgiveness as she did not know what Abu Ja'far had planned to do to her husband.

Abu Hanifa denounces Abu Ja'far's violence and his plans to kill his cousins the descendants of Al-Ḥasan ibnʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib. The Caliph manages to get all scholars to agree with him except for Abu Hanifa. Umayya sends Hasnaa gifts from Cordoba.

Al-Hasan ibn Qahtaba the leader of the army decides to repent for his sins and refuses to fight Muhammad, the caliph's cousin. As Muhammad al-Nafs al-Zakiyya takes over Hijaz, Abu Ja'far sends him a message threatening him. Muhammad and his sons are killed in a battle in Hijaz.

Finale

Abu Ja'far tries to appease to Imam Malik and releases him, while he continues to build Baghdad. Abu Ja'far offers Abu Hanifa the position of judge and when he refuses, the Caliph sends him to prison, which angers the people. The Caliph regrets what he did but it is too late as Abu Hanifa dies in prison.
