After getting fired from their work as parapsychologists at Columbia University, the trio Peter, Raymond, and Egon start their own private business to fight the paranormal activities in New York City.
Years after they successfully saved New York, the Ghostbusters have fallen on hard times and shut down their business. But when Dana calls them to save her child from an evil spirit, the gang comes back together to save Dana's son and the residents of New York.
Paranormal enthusiast Abby Yates and physicist Erin Gilbert form an unlikely paranormal investigating team with engineer Jillian Holtzmann and subway worker Patty Tolan. As ghouls descend on Times Square, the four women uncover a plot to cause an apocalypse by summoning ghosts to New York City.
